TOP 5 MISAL PAV RECOMMENDATIONS IN PUNE

Kya bolta hai, public!
Kasa aahe, barra na?!

I hope your 1st month of 2020 was as eventful and satisfying as you were hoping it to be. As promised on my Instagram stories all throughout January, here’s the much-awaited listicle of my top 5 misal pav recommendations in Pune!

DISCLAIMER:
Misal is usually an excessively spicy dish, the broth (popularly known as sample in Pune) is available in different levels of spices: mild, medium and explosively spicy. I wouldn’t recommend exploring misal for your diet if you don’t have the stomach for authentic spicy Maharashtrian food.

So, here we go.

TOP 5 MISAL RECOMMENDATIONS IN PUNE

TIRANGI MISAL [multiple outlets in Pune]
RAVET, PUNE | INR 75 PER SP. THALI

SHRI KALA SNACKS CENTRE
RASTA PETH, PUNE | INR 60 PER PLATE

Hidden in a tiny lane at Rasta Peth, this place in Pune serves one of the tastiest (and spiciest) #misal #pav I've had in my life! Shree Kala Snacks Centre calls their #MisalPav "sample" pav because "shample" (yes, that's what they call it in most rural areas of Maharashtra)" means "a small piece or sample of food for tasting" – usually given away for free. So whenever you order a #SamplePav out here, they don't charge you for extra "rassa" because that, as much extra you want, is free! For those who like to explore hidden gems, please don't forget to go here during your next visit to #Pune! Caution: don't request for spicy or extremely spicy if you can't handle the heat usually! They serve 5 different kinds of misal – Mastani, Peshwai, Jain, Kolhapuri and #Damodar. Savoury, fiery, tangy and a tinge of sweet… Umami max! Definitely worthy of the rare tag of #BhookadRecommends!
